All Natural and Professional Organic Lawn Care Service

When a person is looking at changing his lawn care over from traditional methods of lawn care to organic lawn care, he may consult different organic lawn care manuals and magazines that will help to guide him through the process. Although organic lawn care only requires some simple changes, there are some individuals who do not have the time or have too large of a yard to be able to care for it themselves. When this is the case, there are organic lawn care services that will do the job for them, keeping it all natural, and maintaining a beautiful lawn.

What to Expect

Organic lawn care services use all natural products to create a beautiful lawn. This can look a little different than traditional services so an individual needs to know what to expect. One difference with an organic lawn care service is that the lawn will be cut at a longer length, usually leaving it at about three to three and a half inches long rather than two inches or shorter with other companies. The reason for this is so that the grass has a stronger root system and it also serves to block the sun for the weeds that require more sunlight to sprout and grow.

There are only two times per year that the lawn will be cut shorter and this is in the spring time and in the early fall, the first and last cuts of the year. These are important cuts because fungus can grow on the tops of the blades during the winter which need to be cut off in the spring so it does not infect the rest of the grass. In the fall, the grass needs to be cut short also to help prevent the fungus from growing during the winter.

In addition, organic lawn care services leave grass cuttings on top of the lawn as opposed to traditional methods that usually bag the grasses. Organic lawn care services usually use a mulching mower that circulates the cuttings through the mower once again in order to chop them into fine pieces before shooting them out onto the lawn, thus making decomposition easier and produces a mulching affect which adds nutrients to the lawn.

Organic lawn care services also usually reschedule when there has been a rain to ensure that the grass is cut only when it is dry. Cutting the grass when it is wet or when the blades on the mower are dull can create a ragged cut which allows fungus and disease to grow more easily in the grass. A clean cut helps to prevent this eventuality.
